Configuring a thin reclamation process

You can create a thin reclamation process for one or more hosts using the Veritas Operations Manager console.

To configure a thin reclamation process for a host

  1. In the Veritas Operations Manager console, click Solutions.
  2. Under Veritas SF Thin Reclamation, click Create Reclamation Processes.
  3. In the Configure Reclamation Process wizard panel, enter the reclamation process name in the Process Name and select Host (File System) for Reclaim By option. After you have entered the required information, click Next.

  4. In the Select Hosts panel, Veritas Operations Manager displays the hosts that support thin reclamation. Select one or more hosts and click Next.

  5. In the Select File Systems panel, select one or more file systems that you want to reclaim. The supported file system is Veritas File System.

  6. In the Select Scheduled Run Options panel, select Run this Reclamation Process automatically check box and select the frequency at which you want to run this reclamation. The Run this Reclamation Process automatically check box is optional. Click Next.

  7. The Reclamation Process Summary panel provides you with the details about the configured reclamation process. For example, process scope, reclaimable Veritas File Systems, reclaimable LUNs, process schedule, and the start date for the process.

  8. Select the Run Reclamation Now check box if you want to run the reclamation process immediately after you save it. By default, it is selected. Click View Association Report to view the reclamation process associations report. It provides you the details about the objects that are used in the reclamation. Click Finish to complete the reclamation process.
